God remains faithful to the covenant God has made with humanity through Abraham. It is we who turn way, succumbing to the presence of sin, and our own desire for power. Having broken the covenant, we cannot do anything to restore it. That restoration comes to us through what God has done through his Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
