Newcomer Gathering Ministry

Leader: Shelly Carlson

Many new people of all ages are visiting St. John's and many are continuing to attend. What a blessing! This creates a need to get acquainted so that all feel welcomed into our loving community at St. John's.

What happens at a Newcomers' Gathering? The goal is simple -- get acquainted in a fun, casual setting. Gatherings are offered every few months at the home of a parish member. Newcomers and established members sign up at the Welcome Table in the narthex. A gathering is limited to 20; about half newcomers and half members. Father Cliff and Deacon Marcia attend as often as possible.

If you are a newcomer, here's what to expect. Introductions are made, finger foods are plentiful and there is plenty of time to mingle. Father Cliff and Deacon Marcia share a little about themselves and their experience here at St. John's. This is a good time for newcomer's to share a bit about themselves and how they found St. John's and also to ask questions of those of us who have been here awhile.

If you are a member at St. John's and wish to be a host for one of the upcoming gatherings, please contact Shelly Carlson by clicking the email icon at the top of this page.
